First Net Impressions Receives Prestigious
STEP Inside Design Award

EAU CLAIRE, Wis.— OCTOBER 3, 2007: First Net Impressions, LLC, an Eau Claire Web and Graphic Design firm, was recently recognized as a Site of Merit in the STEP 2007 Best of the Web awards, hosted by STEP Inside Design magazine, for the extensive redesign of the Wild Ridge and Mill Run website.

Wild Ridge and Mill Run Golf Course, a championship course located in Eau Claire, WI, was focused on increasing memberships and inspiring current members to spend more time golfing. The facility features two separate 18-hole courses, with five sets of tees to choose from, and breathtaking views.

The redesigned site, www.WildRidgeGolf.com is colorful and dynamic, truly capturing the attention of users and at the same time extremely informational and organized. Combining unique design aspects, beautiful photography, and a functional layout is no small feat, yet the site accomplishes this in an engaging and compelling format.

“I wanted you to almost be able to smell the dew on the fresh-cut grass,” said Beth Larson, Art Director and designer of the award-winning website. Though you could never tell by looking at the new website Larson goes on to say, “I've never even swung a club in my life, and golf courses are definitely not my scene. I had to imagine I was a businessman in my late 30s, sitting in my office, wishing I was golfing.”

STEP Inside Design's impressive lineup of experienced judges included Hillman Curtis, a multi-talented and renowned designer and principal and CEO of HillmanCurtis.com, Kelly Goto, principal at Gotomedia, LLC, and Joe Pemberton, principal and co founder of Punchcut.

This year, in response to a record number of submissions, the magazine decided to show winners in three categories – Judges’ Selections for Best in Show, Winning Sites and Sites of Merit.
